外国语学院简介

贵阳学院外国语学院办学历史可追溯至创办于1978年的贵阳师范高等专科学校外语系。2005年贵阳学院成立后外语系成为学校首批建设本科专业的院系。创建于1902年的贵阳师范学校于2009年并入贵阳学院,其中英语教师转入外语系。2012年撤系建院后更名为外国语学院。

学院坚持以培养高质量应用型外语人才为目标,立足贵阳,面向贵州,为地区社会经济发展输送了大批具有坚实专业学科知识、综合素质高的优秀外语人才。为进一步凝练学科专业方向,外国语学院于2020年开始停招日语本科专业,全力做强英语本科专业。学院现有教授4人,副教授37人,硕士以上学历46人,其中具有博士学位的3人,在读博士2人,具有海外留学经历的师资占比30.1 %。学院现有贵州省教学名师1人,建有省级“金课”4门。发表核心论文3篇,主编教材、专著10部,主持、参与国家级项目1项,省部级项目8项,教育厅项目20项,获科研、教学成果奖5项。


Introduction to the School of Foreign Languages

The School of Foreign Languages at Guiyang University has a long history, dating back to 1978, when the Foreign Language Department of Guiyang Normal College was established. After the establishment of Guiyang University in 2005, the Foreign Languages Department became one of the first departments to provide students bachelor degrees. Guiyang Teachers’ School, founded in 1902, was merged into Guiyang University in 2009. Since then, the English teachers there transferred to the Foreign Language Department. In 2012, the department of foreign languages was renamed the School of Foreign Languages.

The School of foreign languages insists on cultivating high-quality practical foreign language talents. The graduates majorly make contributions in Guiyang City and Guizhou Province. A large number of outstanding foreign language talents with solid professional knowledge and high comprehensive quality graduated from the school have been serving the regional socio-economic development. In order to further optimize the majors, the School of Foreign Languages suspended the enrollment of Japanese majors in 2020, and made every effort to strengthen the English majors.

The faculty is robust. There are 4 full professors and 37 associate professors. Among them, three hold doctoral degrees, and two are doctoral candidates. In total, 46 teachers hold master’s degrees or higher, and over 30.1% having studied abroad. In recent years, one faculty member was honored as a provincial-level master teacher, and the department has established four provincial-level top-quality courses. In addition, the faculty has made significant contributions to academic research, publishing over 100 academic papers and more than 10 monographs and textbooks. They have undertaken one national-level project, eight provincial-level projects, over 20 projects of the Education Department in Guizhou province and won five scientific and teaching research achievement awards on provincial, municipal and school levels.
